Born in Hungary to a family of artists; Mr.
Batky's father was a well known sculptor.
A childhood interest in precious metals and jewelry-making led to an apprenticeship with the Hungarian State Mint.
After being certified in precious metal work and gemology by the Hungarian government in 1965, he spent time in Italy and France gaining rare experience in jewelry design.
In 1967 he immigrated to New York City and began designing and creating fine jewelry for companies such as Tiffany's, Van Cleef and Arpels and David Webb.
