Olleros Chavin Trek (3 days)
Itineraries
DAY 1: HUARAZ - OLLEROS - TZARACANCHA
After breakfast in the Hotel, we’ll leave of Huaraz at 8 am. We will arrive to Olleros (3450m) around 9 am. Where we will meet our mountain staff and donkeys, llamas. From here we will start our trekking quite easy going up enjoying the splendid views and White Mountain peaks. Early we will arrive our first camp Tzacracancha (3800m). Overnight camping.
DAY 2: TZARACANCHA - SHONGOPAMPA
Today, early in the morning we will have breakfast and will start hike up at 9 am. to get the Yanashallash pass about 4 hours aprox. Where we will have lunch enjoying the splendid views. Then we will go down hill until second Camp at (3850 masl). This day we have enjoyed walking in the Pre-Inka trail stone paved some parts, then we will start zigzag path to go down to Shonkopampa, our guide will recommend you to hold windy jackets. Overnight camping at (3850m).
DAY 3: SHONKOPAMPA - CHAVIN DE HUANTAR - HUARAZ
Early in the morning after our Andean breakfast we will start our trekking down hill passing by Andean straw huts and humble villages in each steep kids will ask us for sweets, and saying hello, confusing to Americans with Europeans calling “Gringos” you will hear saying “gringo regalame caramelo” it’s traditional and they feel friendly receiving a candy from gringo’s hands.
